K-12 Assessment of Next Generation Science Standards - New Report


To date, eight states have adopted the Next Generation Science Standards, which outline the key scientific ideas and practices that all students should learn by the time they graduate from high school.  Assessment for the Next Generation Science Standards, a new report by the National Research Council, recommends strategies for developing new assessments that can accurately measure proficiency in science, based on the new standards. The report draws on available techniques and current knowledge to outline next steps for developing fair and reliable assessments.
