Northeast Still Recovering From Sandy

NOAA photoHurricane Sandy caused widespread devastation this week in New Jersey and New York and elsewhere, but the storm’s toll would have been worse if not for the ability of forecasters to accurately predict its path and intensity. Links between climate change and extreme weather events and the nation’s resilience to disasters are the subject of much attention as well in the storm’s wake.
