L'Oréal Accepting Applications for
2009 USA Fellowships for Women in Science
NEW YORK CITY – L'Oréal is now accepting applications for its 2009 Fellowships for Women in Science. The fellowship program awards grants -- from $40,000 to $60,000 -- to five female researchers each year who are pursuing careers in science, math, engineering, or computer sciences. The selection is based on proposed research projects and eligibility according to stringent criteria.
Now in its sixth year, the L’ORÉAL USA Fellowships for Women in Science program has awarded 25 fellowships to women scientists in the United States. A jury of nine scientists, led by Ralph J. Cicerone, president of the National Academy of Sciences, selects the fellows.
This fellowship is open to women postdoctoral researchers who are either American citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Applications for the 2009 fellowships must be submitted by Oct. 31, 2008. For information on eligibility, submission requirements, and procedures, visit http://www.lorealusa.com/forwomeninscience.
