Review of Draft EIS for Drakes Bay Oyster Company – Report Release Aug. 30
A new National Research Council report will be released on Thursday, Aug. 30, that assesses the scientific information, analysis, and conclusions presented in the draft environmental impact statement (EIS) prepared to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of a proposed 10-year Special Use Permit extension of the Drakes Bay Oyster Company's operations. The report also looks at whether the peer review of the document conducted by Atkins, North America is sound. However, the committee that wrote the report did not perform an independent evaluation of the environmental impacts of the proposed alternatives.
