NAS Gulf of Mexico Program to Hold First Meeting in New Orleans July 24-25
The recently appointed Advisory Group of the National Academy of Sciences' Gulf of Mexico program will hold its first meeting on July 24 and 25 in New Orleans. As the group begins its task of defining a strategic direction for the program, it will review current research and restoration activities in the Gulf and hear from representatives from academia, state and federal government programs, nongovernmental organizations, and other interested stakeholders. Members of the public are invited to attend.
In the coming months, the group will hold a series of in-person and virtual meetings in each of the Gulf states and Washington, D.C., to gather information from additional stakeholders and members of the public.
