Making the Soldier Decisive on Future Battlefields -- New Report
In the current "era of persistent conflict," the U.S. military's most important asset is the dismounted soldier. Making the Soldier Decisive on Future Battlefields, a new report from the National Research Council, assesses the technological capabilities and system organization needed for dismounted soldiers to gain a tactical advantage on the battlefield. The report establishes technical requirements for this advantage, considering the attributes of the individual soldier, the technology acquisitions process, and measurements of performance and effectiveness, and prescribes 15 recommendations to focus the Army's efforts.
