Establishing a Safety Culture in Academic Labs -- Committee Meeting May 15-16
A National Research Council committee examining laboratory safety of chemical research in non-industrial settings will hold its first meeting May 15 and 16 in Washington, D.C., to hear from experts and gather information. The committee's study will explore ways to promote safe practices and attitudes in chemical research laboratories and will make recommendations for systems that would improve safety of these facilities.
The event will take place Wednesday, May 15, from 12:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT and Thursday, May 16, from 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. EDT in Room 120 of the National Academy of Sciences building, 2101 Constitution Ave., N.W.
