Strategic Long-Term Participation by DOD in Its Manufacturing USA Institutes – New Report and Webinar

For U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) manufacturing science and technology advances to effectively mature and transition into production, DOD must have access to a robust and responsive U.S. industrial base, which is often driven by advanced manufacturing technologies. The Manufacturing Innovation Institutes (MIIs) are considered crucial and game-changing catalysts that are bringing together innovative ecosystems in various technology and market sectors critical to DOD and the nation.

Strategic Long-Term Participation by DOD in Its Manufacturing USA Institutes, a new report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, addresses issues associated with the long-term sustainability of the MIIs now supported by the DOD.

Advance copies of the report will be available to reporters only beginning at noon EDT Friday, April 12.

The report is embargoed and not for public release before 11 a.m. EDT Monday, April 15.

In addition, members of the committee that wrote the report will present their findings and answer questions during a webinar starting at 2 p.m. EDT Tuesday, April 23.
