Review of Advances Made to the IRIS Process: Workshop and Webcast Feb. 1-2

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine are conducting a study that reviews the advances made to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) in response to the recommendations of previous Academies reports, such as Review of EPA's IRIS Process and Review of the Environmental Protection Agency's Draft IRIS Assessment of Formaldehyde.

On Feb. 1 and 2, the Academies’ study committee will hold a public workshop to hear from EPA about its changes to the IRIS program and also to provide stakeholders an opportunity to comment on the changes.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, Feb. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST and on Friday, Feb. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EST in the Lecture Room of the National Academy of Sciences building, 2101 Constitution Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C.  Click here for more information, an agenda, or to watch the live webcast.  Reporters who wish to attend should register in advance with the Office of News and Public Information; tel. 202-334-2138 or e-mail
