The Committee on the Human Dimensions of Global Change is a standing committee
that was established in 1989 to help guide research in the United States on the
interactions between human activity and global environmental change. Working in
conjunction with other units of the National Research Council, the committee
serves as a source of broad scientific expertise and judgement for setting
agenda for research on human environmental interactions.

The activities posted in this project record relate to the standing committee
acting in its planning, program development, and project oversight roles. This

and resulting in reports of the institution are posted in separate project
