Project Scope
An ad hoc committee under the auspices of the Committee on Law and Justice will review the evidence on: (1) the effects of different forms of proactive policing on crime; (2) whether these approachesĀ are applied in a discriminatory manner; (3) whether these approachesĀ are being used in a legal fashion; and (4) community reaction. The committee's review of the literature and the subsequent report will include a thorough discussion of data and methodological gaps in the research.
