Project Scope
|
The National Research Council will provide assistance and advice to the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) by accomplishing a study of objectives and system requirements for persistent surveillance. The study will:
1. Review capabilities and gaps
2. Articulate challenges related to:
a. Low-cost platforms;
b. Air and ground-base sensors, specifically
--Requirements
--Architecture
--Tasking
c. Architecture for data distribution and analysis, particularly
--Data exploitation
--Data fusion
--Analyst support
--Organization
d. A coupling to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Task Force
The project is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense/JIEDDO
The approximate start date for the project is 1 April 2009.
An interim report will be issued in the course of the project and a final report at the end.
