Project Scope
|
This project will review the USDOT R&D strategic plan in terms of its
o alignment with USDOT strategic goals;
o identification of major projects and types of research (such as fundamental or applied);
o future funding requirements;
o reflection of stakeholder input;
o integration of the R&D plans of modal administrations; and
o consideration of research conducted by other federal agencies, states, non-profits, and private industry.
The project is sponsored by the US Department of Transportation's Research and Innovative Technology Administration. The approximate start date for the project is May 11, 2006.
A series of letter reports will be issued in the course of the project.
