OPEN SESSION

2:15 P.M. Public welcome and introductions

2:30 P.M. Discussion topic: Bio-carbon sources/sinks

The panel has thus far focused primarily on consideration of managing fossil-fuel carbon sources. In this session we will turn our attention to the issue of managing biological carbon sources/sinks (in particular, strategies to sequester carbon in forests and soil systems); in particular, to better understand what types of management strategies might be feasible as serious climate change mitigation options. Speakers include:

Bruce Mc Carl (Texas A&M University. panel member) – overview and economic perspectives
Bill Parton (Colorado State University) – soil and grassland systems
Representative (US Forest Service) – forest systems [to be confirmed]
