1:30 p.m. PANEL DISCUSSION: WRITING RECOMMENDATIONS WITH IMPACT
The committee will be joined by representatives from the National Research Council, Congressional Affairs offices, Hill staff and others to discuss how to draft effective recommendations.

3:45 p.m. PANEL DISCUSSION: THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIETAL IMPACT OF BASIC LIFE SCIENCES RESEARCH
The committee will be joined by a group of experts who will discuss the impact of basic life sciences research on the U.S. economy––especially the health care, agricultural and energy sectors––and its potential role in solving societal challenges like climate change.
