Closed Session Summary Posted After the Meeting
The following committee members were present at the closed sessions of the meeting: Participants at both sessions were committee chair L. Fisk; vice chair B. Margon; members M. Abbott S. Battel R. Chapas M. Israel C. Kirkpatrick J. Logan R. Millan R. Paul G. Riegler and M. Sykes; and SSB staff members J. Alexander V. Swisher and L. Walker.
The following topics were discussed in the closed sessions: The committee met during the afternoon of January 21, 2009 to
• conduct a Balance and Composition discussion,
• discuss prior reports that are relevant to the study charge, and
• discuss the statement of task for the study.
The committee met on January 23, 2009 to
• hear from committee members about industry and federal laboratory approaches to topics that are relevant to the study,
• hear about other relevant ongoing NRC studies, and
• discuss plans for the committee’s March 2009 meeting.
The following materials (written documents) were made available to the committee in the closed sessions: Charts used for briefings to the committee have been filed. There were no other materials delivered to the committee during these sessions.
